Summary of Practice
Ja-young Kim is a partner and member of the firm's patent department, where his practice focuses on patent prosecution and appeals related to electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, and semiconductor processing.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Kim has served as a Patent Examiner at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) in the Semiconductor, Display Device, and Electronics Examination Division, Senior Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Division and the PCT International Search & Preliminary Examination Division, and as a Patent Administrative Judge on KIPO's Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board and Litigation Division.

In addition to his extensive knowledge of Korean IP matters, Mr. Kim is also an expert in Chinese IP matters, having earned an LLM in Intellectual Property at Tsinghua University in Beijing and completing his overseas training in China.

Mr. Kim was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar in 2008 and is a member of the Korea Patent Attorneys Association.
