Summary of Practice: Cheol Sohn is a partner and member of the firm's IP department, where his practice focuses on all aspects of patent prosecution and litigation, principally in the fields of physics, metallurgy and ceramics, semiconductor devices and processing methods, nanotechnology, energy, automotive technology, electrical and mechanical engineering.

Due to his extensive knowledge in these areas, Mr. Sohn represents a wide range of cutting-edge technological companies and additionally provides opinion work for clearance, non-infringement and invalidity proceedings.
Mr. Sohn is fluent in English and works closely with foreign and domestic clients, as well as a network of foreign associates to prepare and prosecute domestic and international patent applications, and to prepare clearance, non-infringement and invalidity opinions.
Mr. Sohn previously worked as an in-house IP counsel for Samsung SDI, covering the management, procurement and protection of patent rights for its OLED business division.

Mr. Sohn was admitted to the Korean Patent Bar in 2002 and is a member of the Korea Patent Attorneys Association. He also passed the U.S. Patent Bar Examination in 2015.
